    Where:

    The final layer of asphalt will be placed on the South Eastern Freeway's outbound lanes from Friday 14-Monday 17 May, with works undertaken at the following times, weather permitting.

    When:

    • 1pm Friday 14 May until 8:30am Saturday 15 May
    • 2pm Saturday 15 May until 8:30am Sunday 16 May
    • 2pm Sunday 16 May until 6am Monday 17 May.

    Important Information: Speed restrictions will be in place during the day and night in both directions. Motorists should expect delays, so please plan ahead and allow extra travel time. Once these works are complete, speed restrictions will remain in place on the outbound lanes for approximately four to six weeks, weather permitting, to enable excess bitumen to be worn to a safe level prior to the posted speed limit being reinstated. The map attached shows traffic restrictions from 7pm Friday 14 May to 6am Monday 17 May.

    Adelaide Hills Council will be constructing a shared path between Stirling and Crafers to provide a safer connection for recreation use.

    Tree and vegetation removal will be undertaken to enable future construction.

    There will be no access to this section of the trail during works.

    WHEN: Monday 19 April to Friday 30 April 2021 (weather permitting).
    Works will occur between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

    What: Removal of numerous dead trees within the western verge adjacent to Gould Road Stirling especially those overhanging the roadway and pedestrian walking path. These essential works are required in order to maintain a low level of risk to road users. Removal of various woody weed species within the verge will also be undertaken in conjunction with the above works.

    When: 8am - 4pm, Monday 15 March – Wednesday 17 March 2021.

    Where: From 67 Gould Road to no.59 Gould Road, Stirling.

    Important Information: During these works the section of road in this location will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Vehicle access to properties in this location will be severely restricted. Detours and speed restrictions will be in place. While all attempts will be made to minimise inconvenience to local residents, closure of the road is required in order for the works to be completed in the shortest possible time frame.

    During certain periods of these works residents directly adjacent to the work site will have limited vehicle access within their properties. Residents are advised to remove vehicles from these affected properties prior to the indicated timeframes.

    What is happening: Council will be undertaking a project to renew a section of footpath, kerb and upgrade stormwater assets in the Main Street at Lobethal.

    Why are the works taking place? This section of footpath has multiple trip hazards and defects, the kerb is depressed and shattered and the stormwater system does not manage large rain events. The new footpath and kerb will increase pedestrian safety and upgrades to the stormwater pits will improve collection.

    Timing: The project will commence Monday the 15 of March and is expected to be complete by the 9 of April 2021.

    Access: During this time speed restrictions and footpath closure will be in place, residential driveways and access to the Lobethal Bakery front carpark will be intermittently effected, the contractor will be available to coordinate work around traffic movements.

    Additional information: As part of the works 3 mature Ash will be removed and replaced with 4 Zelkova serrata “Green Vase’ Japanese Elms in new positions to match with recent street scape works in the Main Street.

    What: Stormwater upgrade will occur between numbers 32 and 35 Birch Road to better manage stormwater flows currently causing water to run across the road and flooding in residential driveways. The upgrade is expected to address the flooding issue.

    When: Works will commence Monday 15 March 2021 and is expected to be completed by the 29 March 2021.

    Important information: During this time speed restrictions, short term road closures and lane blocks will be in place. Residential driveways on Birch Road may be intermittently effected and a contractor on site will be available to assist traffic movements.

    What: Road repair works along Druid Avenue in Stirling.

    When: Works are scheduled to take place next Wednesday 17 February (weather permitting) from 7am – 5pm.

    Important information: Access along Druid Avenue and to driveway cross overs will be maintained as best as possible to businesses, customers and residents, although there may be delays due to lane and speed restrictions. Detours will need to be observed. Additionally, parking adjacent to Miss Perez, Bank SA and the Southern end of Druid Avenue will be unavailable at times.

    What: Installation of stormwater pits and pipes will require the temporary closure of Grevillea Way, Woodside.

    When: Works will commence Friday 12 February 2021 and will be active for approximately two weeks (pending weather conditions).

    Important information: The road will only be accessible to local and emergency traffic.

    What: The Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) is undertaking major pavement rehabilitation works on the South Eastern Freeway between the Toll Gate and the Crafers interchange. The works involve removing around 300mm of existing pavement and replacing it with new asphalt.

    Why: Major asphalting works such as these were last undertaken on this section of freeway over 20 years ago. The works are to ensure the long term safety and integrity of the freeway for all road users.

    When: Works will commence on Sunday 7 February 2021 and are expected to be completed by July 2021, weather permitting. Works will be undertaken at night from Sunday to Friday at the following times.

    • Sunday evening works, from 5:00pm to 6:00am Monday
    • Monday to Friday evening works between 7:00pm and 6:00am
    • Friday evening works will continue until 8:00am Saturday.

    Day works may also be required on five weekends, where works will be continuous from 7:00pm Friday through to 6:00am Monday. Advanced notice will be provided on the details of these weekend works.

    No works will be undertaken on days of extreme fire danger conditions.

    Where: Works will be undertaken in stages on sections of the freeway between the Toll Gate and the Crafers Interchange. Click here to enlarge a map showing the different stages of work (PDF, opens in new tab).

    Important information: During work on each section, vehicles will be directed onto the other side of the freeway. On the side of the freeway open to traffic, one lane of traffic will operate in the uphill direction for all vehicles, and two lands will operate in the downhill direction for all vehicles. Speed restrictions will be in place from the Toll Gate to the Stirling Interchange for the duration of the works. Outside of working hours, lane restrictions and speed restrictions will remain in place.

    What: Footpath closure from Howard Drive to Melrose Avenue in Crafers to allow for fuel reduction work.

    When: Wednesday 27 January to Friday 29 January, plus Monday 1 February to Tuesday 2 February if required, between 7am and 4pm.

    Where: Howard Drive, Crafers, to Melrose Avenue.

    Important information: This section of footpath will be closed to pedestrians between 7am and 4pm while works are undertaken. Signs will be in place at either end of the closure to identify the closed area.
