This play space was identified for an upgrade in Council’s 2024/25 Annual Business Plan process with a total budget of $220,000. A portion of the budget will need to cover design, demolition, site preparation and landscaping. The remaining costs will be used on the play space elements (for example equipment, seating etc).
This play space is classified as a 'local’ Play Space which in the Adelaide Hills Council is:
An area intended for local play, often equipment based
Visited by people who live nearby, sometimes by foot, for a short period of time
Features: picnic area, sculptures, playground, information signage
Not included in the project is associated infrastructure such as lighting, bbqs, public toilets, parking, and shade sails.
This September 2024 we will be running 2 workshops with the first one happening on Tuesday 3 September at 5:30pm (allowing approx 2 hours), at the Uraidla Hotel (Hills Hoist Room).
If you're passionate about this space register below to be a part of our two co-design workshops where you can share with Council and the designer your ideas and considerations for this play space!
Workshop 1 on 3rd Sept: You will work with the designer to discuss the importance of the site, its identity, your aspirations and be involved in developing sketches.
Workshop 2 on 24th Sept: You will provide feedback on the designer’s visioning package and help to narrow down the preferred concept plan.
In the meantime, you can also share any visionary ideas using the ideas tool below or encourage others to share their vision.
