The Yarrabee Road play space upgrade was identified in Council’s 2021/22 Annual Business Plan process and $180,000 is allocated to build it. A portion of which will need to cover landscaping and site preparation and the remaining costs will be on the play space elements (equipment, seating, and signage).

This play space is classified as a ‘Local’ Play Space. A ‘Local’ Play Space in the Adelaide Hills Council is:

  • An area intended for local play, often equipment based
  • Visited by people who live nearby, sometimes by foot, for a short period of time.
  • Additional general characteristics of this type of play space can be found in Council's Sport and Recreation Strategy 2017 - 2021, pp 22 - 24.

Not included in the project is formal shade structure, lighting, bbqs, public toilets, parking and fencing.
