Notification of upcoming Tree Works - Kintyre Road, Woodforde (Rescheduled date of works)

Adelaide Hills Council wishes to advise that the following works which were originally scheduled to be undertaken on Friday 21st April 2023 will now be undertaken on Wednesday 9th August 2023. Works have been delayed as access to the site has been restricted due to adjacent residential construction works.

Works: Complete removal of one Corymbia citriodora (commonly known as Lemon-scented Gum) and pruning to reduce branch extension of one Eucalyptus camaldulensis (commonly known as River Red Gum) located on the corner of Kintyre Rd and Highland Court.

Date of works: Wednesday 9th August 2023

Time of Works: 8:00am – 2:30pm.

Reason for works: Adelaide Hills Council engaged an independent arboricultural consultant to assess the condition of the Lemon Scented Gum. The assessment findings concluded that the tree is unsustainable in its current environment and therefore will not be retained. No alternative management options (such as pruning) are available to address the issues identified. Pruning will occur to the River Red Gum tree to provide suitable clearances to the recently constructed dwelling.

Vehicle restrictions: To enable works to be conducted in a safe manner, the use of various machinery is required. This equipment will be positioned on the road surface requiring temporary modifications to traffic movements on Kintyre Road. Speed restrictions and a lane closure will be required between number 6 and number 14 Kintyre Road during the indicated time of works above.

Throughout the duration of the works a comprehensive work zone traffic management plan will be implemented. Residents in this area will still be able to access their properties by vehicle but are advised that delays may occur. Timber may be left within the verge area for residents to collect once the works are completed. Please note, access to the work zone is strictly prohibited during the works.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions, please contact Councils Open Spaces Department on 8408 0400 between the hours of 9:00am to 3pm Monday to Friday.
