Playground and Carpark restrictions: Due to debris and remediation works, the south-western corner of the playground area will remain closed. All other areas of the playground & car park are now available to the public.
Time of Works: Remediation works are estimated to be complete by end of April 2023.
Adelaide Hills Council wishes to advise that the following urgent tree works will be undertaken within Steamroller Park Playground, Stirling.
Works: Complete removal of one mature Quercus palustris tree (Commonly known as a Pin Oak). The tree is situated to the south western corner of the playground area.
Date of works: Thursday 13th to Friday 14th April 2023.
Time of Works: 7:00am to 5:00pm
Reason for works: As a result of a routine tree inspection, significant structural flaws were identified within the trees primary branching structure. Due to the development of a large split within the trees main stem, the tree poses imminent failure potential within the recreational precinct. Due to the size and configuration of the large split, no alternative management options are available in this instance to stabilise and retain the tree. Complete tree removal is required to manage the associated risks to the public.
Playground and Carpark restrictions: To ensure public safety is maintained, the frequently utilised playground and car parking area surrounding the tree has been isolated and closed to the public. To enable the tree removal to be conducted in a safe manner, these public spaces will not be reopened until the tree has been completely removed.
We apologise for any inconvenience these works may have and thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
If you have any questions regarding these works, please contact Council on 8408 0400.
Yours sincerely,
