Notification of upcoming works – Tyalla Court, Crafers

Adelaide Hills Council wishes to advise that the following works will be undertaken within Tyalla Court, Crafers.

Works: Complete removal of ten dead Eucalyptus trees of various species situated within the southern verge of Tyalla Court, Crafers. Pruning to remove deadwood over the road corridor and the complete removal of one Eucalyptus viminalis (commonly known as Manna Gum tree) situated to the eastern end of Tyalla Courts southern road verge will be undertaken.

Date of works: Tuesday 18th April 2023

Time of Works: 8:30am to 3:30pm

Reason for works: The removal of ten dead Eucalyptus trees is required to manage the likelihood of branch failure occurring over the road corridor. The trees are not suitable for retention as smaller specimens and therefore will be removed. Council engaged the services of an independent arboricultural consultant to assess the condition various trees within the road verge. The assessment findings concluded one mature Manna Gum displayed a rapid decline in health due to the presents of a wood decaying fungal pathogen. As a result, the trees ability to function has been compromised and no remedial management options are currently available. Significant structural defects were also observed within the trees primary branching structure. The tree has surpassed its useful life expectancy and is unsuitable for retention as a habitat tree in this location.

Vehicle restrictions: To enable these works to be conducted in a safe manner, the use of various machinery is required. This machinery will be positioned on the road surface requiring temporary modifications to traffic movements on Tyalla Court. Throughout the duration of the works various traffic management control will be implemented. Pedestrian access to residential properties will be maintained, however we request that residents who require to leave their properties by vehicle during this period, move their vehicles out of Tyalla Court prior to works commencing.

Timber may be left within the verge area for residents to collect once the works are completed. Please note, access to the work zone is strictly prohibited during the works. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions, please contact Councils Open Spaces Department on 8408 0400.
