Spot a Sign
Did you know that the Adelaide Hills Council district is 79,498 hectares (or 795 square kilometers) in size? That's a lot of ground to cover, and we're asking for your help to track of all the places where an Adelaide Hills Council sign has been placed. In the future we will be looking to update a number of signs for accuracy, legibility, and to recognise the traditional owners of the land where appropriate.
Spot a Sign!
Spot a sign belonging to the Adelaide Hills Council, pin it on this page, and you'll go into the draw to win a family pass to one of the great hills attractions these school holidays! There will be a winner drawn every week until the end of the campaign. This competition period is now closed, but you can still pin signs!
What you're looking for:
- Any permanent sign with an Adelaide Hills Council logo, or
- Any permanent sign that says 'Adelaide Hills Council' on it, or
- Any permanent sign that mentions a pre-amalgamation council (e.g. Stirling District, Torrens Valley District etc).
Check sports grounds, halls, roadsides, parks, or reserves
Alert your friends and family to keep an eye out
Get your sports club or walking group onto it
Bookmark this page so you can return and upload your pin as soon as you spot a sign!
What you should do when you find one:
- Open the Spot a Sign map, below and follow its instructions:
- Drop a pin on the map to show us where the sign is,
- Add a short description about what the sign is for,
- Add a photo to help us paint a picture!
Every week until 8 February 2021, we will randomly select someone who Spots a Sign to win a family pass to a hills attraction. You can pin as many signs as you like, but you are only entered in the draw once for each sign for the period of the promotion. SPOT A SIGN
Add a pin at the location where you've spotted an Adelaide Hills Council sign and give us a little description of what the sign says.
Please add a photo to really help us paint a picture of the district!
How to participate:
- Click on the map or the 'go to map' button
- Zoom in to the section of the map where you spotted a sign
- Click on the plus sign (+) - Left of computer screen, or bottom of mobile screen.
- Click on the 'AHC sign' pin and drag it to your desired map location (on mobile then select 'set this location')
- Leave your comment
Entering a valid email address is a requirement. Please note your email address will remain anonymous and not appear on the map or made public.

To be eligible for the prize draw, a pin must:
- Be the first placed on a given sign,
- Be on a sign belonging to Adelaide Hills Council,
- Be correctly labeled, and
- Be accompanied by a legitimate email address.
