What's included in the upgrade?

Play equipment, nature play elements, minor landscaping and signage. The $180,000 will need to cover site preparation and landscaping works. It's estimated that about half of the budget will be available for play space elements.

What's not included in the upgrade?

Parking, public toilets, shelter, bbq areas, fencing or lighting

Will there be a drop in session so I can have my say?

No - but Council will be visiting the Lenswood Primary School to engage with children to ensure we capture kid focussed feedback.

What's the budget for the project?

$180,000 is the maximum budget. This needs to be split between site preparation works and play equipment.

    Who should have their say?

We welcome all feedback. Council is inviting comment from all park users such as local residents, key community groups, local schools and child care centers. Even parents and grandparents who may take children to the playground can have a a say.

    When will construction start?

The plan is for the financial year (2020/21) to undertake community engagement, develop a concept plan, finalise the design with your additional feedback during a Stage 2 engagement and then go out to tender. This is so we are ready for construction in the following financial year (2021/22). We'll keep you posted.

How long will it take to construct the playground?

It's expected it will take about 3 months to construct the new play space.

What happens to the existing equipment?

Due to the responsibilities council has in keeping the community safe, it is necessary that we decommission and dispose of the existing playground equipment.
