Project Update: Towards Construction

We're excited to inform you that the date for the Kersbrook Play Space is 1 March 2021. The construction will take approximately 8 weeks to complete (weather dependent) and may alter during construction to ensure the best fit for the landscape and equipment.

During construction the play space will be unavailable and we apologise for any inconvenience.

Please take a moment to see what's coming below and in the photo gallery to the right.

Ready to build

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback as part of this initial stage of designing the play space at Kersbrook Soldiers Memorial Park.

Designs are now complete and we're getting ready to start construction of this exciting new play space. Check out all the images of what the space will look like in the photo gallery to the right of this page.

Your feedback shaped this play space design and you can read the feedback we received here i Consultations Outcome Report.

Our next steps are to commence construction in late February / early March 2021.

To read more about how we go about Play Space upgrades read this handy fact sheet.

We will use this project page to keep you updated on progress - if at any time you have any questions you can call or email our team:

Background

This play space upgrade was identified in the Council’s 2019/20 Annual Business Plan and $120,000 has been allocated to undertake the works.

The Kersbrook play space is classified as a ‘Local’ Play Space. A ‘Local’ Play Space in the Adelaide Hills Council is:

  • An area intended for local play, often equipment based
  • Visited by people who live nearby, sometimes by foot, for a short period of time.

Approximately third of the $180,000 will need to cover landscaping and site preparation and the other half will be used for play space elements (equipment, seating, nature play elements and signage).

Not included in the project is lighting, bbqs, public toilets, parking and fencing.
