What's the purpose of this page?

This page is a digital space for our community to come together since the bushfire which started in Cudlee Creek on 20 December 2019.

This page will grow as we move through the coming months and years together. We’re hoping this site will help us all be better prepared for the future. We want to work with you through this recovery and are here to help. If there is anything else you would like Council to help with, please let us know.

  • Services Australia contains information about: events, financial assistance, grants, small business support, free assistance and advice, justice of the peace information, opportunities for donations, livestock and public health information.
  • AHC Home hosts a number of Council recovery related matters such as: rates support, planning and building information, bin replacement, hard rubbish and green waste

  • Tree Guards and Native Plants on offer for fire-affected landholders

    Tree Guard Offers:

    Arborgreen Landscape Supplies are offering fire-affected landholders a discounted price on guards and stakes. Just supply your property address and let them know how your property was affected and they can apply the discount. Phone 1300 760 642

    Regarding the tree guard recycling scheme, Arborgreen have an area behind their warehouse where they collect and store used corflute guards. If you have many, please advise and they can clear out a space ready for a trailer to back in.

    Native Plant Giveaways:

    Trees For Life are offering a discount for the current planting season (May-Sept 2021) to fire-affected landholders on bulk purchases of 10 bundles of tree guards and stakes which can be purchased for the price of 9 ($190 discount).

    Planning ahead, Tree For Life is also offering a 50% discount on the price on tree guards and stakes up to 5 bundles (500) per property for bundles ordered through the 2021 Tree Scheme to receive April 2022. This discount also applies to seedlings. This subsidy is possible with funding support from the Wildlife Recovery Fund.

    The plant giveaway is part of the Local Economic Recovery Program, a partnership with the Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board and the Department of Primary Industries and Regions South Australia. It is jointly funded by the South Australian and Commonwealth Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.

  • Bushfire Expo 12-13 December, Lobethal

    The Bushfire Expo will bring together major South Australian fire safety industry innovators on 12 and 13 December at Lobethal Oval to present a one-stop overview of information, systems and equipment considered “essential viewing” for all Adelaide Hills residents.

    The expo will present a wide range of leading fire technologies, including a first-time look at Embarr, an innovative new technology developed in Adelaide to consistently monitor properties for bushfire and independently control sprinkler systems, even when un-attended.

    Industry-leading fire safety businesses will present expert safety talks and equipment demonstrations with a focus on best practice disaster response preparation. Entry is by gold coin donation, with proceeds supporting the work of local CFS crews.     For many people, creative activity is a pathway for recovery and wellbeing. At the one-year anniversary of the Cudlee Creek Bushfire, Regenerate will share ways in which our Hills community has responded to this significant event through creative practice.

    1 Lobethal Road, Lobethal

    11am-4pm daily

    While on site for this moving exhibition, you will also see the outdoor exhibition Stories of Lobethal Bushland Park, a series of works by students of Lobethal Primary School with artist Louise Flaherty. This display seeks to explore growth and regeneration, connecting the children to their environment, in particular Lobethal Bushland Park, which was burned in the Cudlee Creek Fire of 2019.
