Who can register on Have Your Say?

Anyone can register on Have Your Say. Whether you're an Adelaide Hills resident, work in or visit the Adelaide Hills or are simply interested in local issues and upcoming developments, we are ready to hear from you!

Why is it important that I register?

It is important that you register as this provides you with full access to all projects on the site, whilst providing us with surety about who is online and their connection to Adelaide Hills Council.  It also enables us to check whether people have accessed more than one engagement tool during a consultation opportunity; it is important to Council and the Community that no one individual overly influences the outcomes of our engagement opportunities.

Does the Have Your Say online platform replace other engagement methods?

No! Have Your Say is all about adding more voices to the mix and gathering as many thoughts and opinions as possible. Council will still carry out more traditional methods of community engagement such as community meetings, information sessions, workshops, forums etc. We will also provide information via mail, Council Service Centres and other means where we can.

What happens to my feedback and will my views be listened to?

All comments, ideas and suggestions Council receives throughout any engagement process are collated and used to inform the development of various strategies, projects, programs and activities, as well as to gain an insight into community views and opinions on different topics.

At the end of any engagement process, all online feedback along with feedback received from other face-to-face engagement activities and direct correspondence to Council are compiled into a report. The engagement report is used by Council to make decisions on the matter they are considering. These reports and resulting decisions will be provided back to you via this platform.

Council values all the feedback we receive from the community. However, while all feedback we receive is considered as part of Council's decision-making process, this does not mean that every suggestion can be taken on board and incorporated into the final project. Where this is the case we will endeavour to explain why.

    How is online platform moderated?

All moderation on Have Your Say is carried out by Bang the Table and is independent to Adelaide Hills Council. The moderators do not edit or alter comments and will only remove comments deemed to be significantly off topic, offensive or malicious, in which case they are removed from the site immediately. Refer to the moderation guidelines for more information.
