Sherry Park Play Space, Mylor upgrade works will commence Friday 26 April

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. All comments and images have been collated into a comprehensive consultation report which you can read now.

The concept plan is now available for viewing (watch the video or download the PDF).

Final design subject to minor changes.

More information about considerations for shelter, BBQ, carparking and connection with the oval coming soon.

The existing Red Cross shelter and seat near the play space will remain in place at this point in time.

What's next?

Construction of the play space upgrade will commence late April 2024 (the old playground will be closed).

The play space will be ready for use by 30 June 2024 (weather and materials permitting).

Background

Plans are under way to upgrade Sherry Park Play Space next to Mylor Oval, Strathalbyn Road, Mylor. You are invited to contribute your ideas for its future.

There are two main stages for you to be involved in.

  • Ideas gathering (now)
  • View the draft concept plan (late 2023)

Take a moment to register your interest, find out more and provide feedback.

Adults, children, grandparents and anyone who uses the play space or who would like to use it in the future, is welcome to share their thoughts and ideas.

This play space was identified for an upgrade in Council’s 2022/23 Annual Business Plan process.

This play space is classified as a 'local’ Play Space which in the Adelaide Hills Council is:

  • An area intended for local play, often equipment based
  • Visited by people who live nearby, sometimes by foot, for a short period of time.
  • Features: picnic area, sculptures, playground, information signage

Not included in the project is lighting, bbqs, public toilets, parking, shade sail and fencing.
