Community Forums are held throughout the year in community facilities around the Hills. They provide an opportunity for council and local residents to communicate directly with each other about emerging issues, services and Council initiatives. Our next community forum will be held in Uraidla.

Uraidla Community Forum - Focused on Sustainability

  • Location: Uraidla Football Club - Uraidla Oval, Swamp Rd
  • Date: Tuesday 29 April 2025
  • Time: 6pm for a 6.30 start. Finishes at 8pm
  • Bookings: Register your interest now
  • Bar open for purchases with proceeds going to Uraidla Football Club. Cocktail food provided.

The forum will focus on sustainability and will be an opportunity to share your ideas, learn from experts, and collaborate with your community.

The forum will include presentations and discussions about:

  • Sustainability initiatives council are currently working on, including our recently endorsed Carbon Management Plan and Cox Creek Restoration project
  • Imagine Uraidla Climate Action and Renewal Energy group achievements to date and plans for 2025
  • Community grants available through council to support community and sporting groups
  • Uraidla Play Space engagement summary and project next steps
  • Learn about the Repair Cafe, held monthly at The Hut Community Centre in Aldgate. Volunteer repair experts have been sharing their skills for several years and have extended the life of 1000s of items
  • East Waste services and council waste and recycling services

There will be plenty of opportunities for community led topics and discussions and various stands for community members to investigate. You can suggest a topic you’d like to discuss at the forum using the 'Ideas' tool below.

Community members will have the opportunity to speak with and provide feedback to council staff and Elected Members at the forum as well as online following the event. We will provide a summary of the forum here in our document library to share what the forum addressed, what was shared and what we heard after it has occurred.
