Works: Pruning to remove damaged branching structure within one large Cupressus macrocarpa - Monterey Cypress tree.
Location: The tree is situated within the Council managed road verge to the south eastern side of the train line intersection.
Date of Works: Monday 31st July.
Time of Works: 9:00am – 3.30pm.
Vehicle restrictions: To enable the tree works to occur comprehensive traffic management controls will be implemented.
Throughout the duration of the works stop / go traffic commands will be maintained. While all attempts will be made to maintain traffic flow delays are anticipated.

Vehicle restrictions: To enable the tree works to be conducted, a partial road closure of Forbes Road will be implemented (between Emery Road and Williams Roads).
Road detour signage will be installed directing vehicles to utilise Emery Road and Williams Road.

Vehicle restrictions: To enable the two trees to be removed a partial road closure of the southern portion of Kingsland Road will be implemented.

Works: Complete removal of two Eucalyptus obliqua – Messmate Stringybarks will be undertaken, as well as pruning to remove deadwood over the road corridor on the verge of 63 Waters Road.
Date of removal works: Thursday 4th and Friday 5th of May 7.30am – 3.30pm.
Reason for tree removal: The easternmost tree has experienced a structural root failure and the adjacent tree also displays evidence of significant root plate instability. No management options are available to retain the trees therefore full removal has been scheduled.
Vehicle restrictions: To enable the trees to be removed in a safe manner, the use of a large elevated work platform is required. As this equipment has a substantial footprint, residents are advised that access to the roadway will be restricted during the period described above. The roadway will still be open to vehicle traffic however residents are advised that delays may occur. Emergency vehicle access through the work site will be maintained. Throughout the duration of the works a comprehensive work zone traffic management plan will be implemented.
Any usable timber will be left on the verge for residents to collect for firewood purposes once the works are completed. Please note, access to the work zone for wood collection is prohibited during the works.

Works: Complete removal of one Eucalyptus leucoxylon – S.A. Blue Gum – located within the council verge.
Date of works: Monday 24 April 2023
Time of works: 7.30am – 1.30pm
Reason for works: The subject tree was observed to have significant root plate instability. No remedial management options are available to retain the tree therefore full removal has been scheduled.
Vehicle restrictions: To enable these works to be conducted in a safe manner, the use of various machinery is required. This machinery will be positioned on the road surface which will require closure of Old Carey Gully Road between Gully Road and Spring Gully Road.
Timber may be left on the road verge for residents to collect once the works are completed. Please note, access to the work zone is strictly prohibited during the works.

These traffic controls are required to enable tree works to occur.
Type of works: Tree pruning to remove deadwood and reduce crown volume of one Fraxinus angustifolia subsp. angustifolia (commonly known as Desert Ash) and four Populus deltoides (commonly known as Cottonwoods) will be undertaken. The subject trees are situated within the southern road verge of Sprigg Road within a 100m proximity of the Piccadilly Road intersection.
Date of works: Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd May 2023.
Time of Works: 7:00am – 4:00pm.
Reason for works: Adelaide Hills Council engaged an independent arboricultural consultant to assess the condition of the subject trees. The assessment findings concluded that substantial lateral branch reduction and pruning to remove deadwood is required to reduce the probability of branch failure occurring over the roadway and private property.
Vehicle restrictions / Road detour: To enable works to be conducted in a safe manner, the use of various machinery is required. This equipment will be positioned on the road surface requiring temporary modifications to traffic movements on Sprigg Road. During the indicated time of works, closure of Sprigg Road will be implemented between number 2 and number 8 Sprigg Road.
Throughout the duration of the works a comprehensive work zone traffic management plan will be implemented. Road users will be detoured around the worksite via alternative roads.
Pedestrian access within properties adjacent to the worksite will be maintained, please note delays may occur. Impacted residents within these properties who require to leave this area via vehicle, are requested to move their vehicles out of the area prior to works commencing.

Works: The removal works of one mature Quercus palustris tree (Commonly known as a Pin Oak) have begun, with the tree now removed to ground level.
Playground and Carpark restrictions: Due to debris and remediation works, the south-western corner of the playground area will remain closed. All other areas of the playground & car park are now available to the public.
Time of Works: Remediation works are estimated to be complete by end of April 2023.
Adelaide Hills Council wishes to advise that the following urgent tree works will be undertaken within Steamroller Park Playground, Stirling.
Works: Complete removal of one mature Quercus palustris tree (Commonly known as a Pin Oak). The tree is situated to the south western corner of the playground area.
Date of works: Thursday 13th to Friday 14th April 2023.
Time of Works: 7:00am to 5:00pm
Reason for works: As a result of a routine tree inspection, significant structural flaws were identified within the trees primary branching structure. Due to the development of a large split within the trees main stem, the tree poses imminent failure potential within the recreational precinct. Due to the size and configuration of the large split, no alternative management options are available in this instance to stabilise and retain the tree. Complete tree removal is required to manage the associated risks to the public.
Playground and Carpark restrictions: To ensure public safety is maintained, the frequently utilised playground and car parking area surrounding the tree has been isolated and closed to the public. To enable the tree removal to be conducted in a safe manner, these public spaces will not be reopened until the tree has been completely removed.

Works: Complete removal of ten dead Eucalyptus trees of various species situated within the southern verge of Tyalla Court, Crafers. Pruning to remove deadwood over the road corridor and the complete removal of one Eucalyptus viminalis (commonly known as Manna Gum tree) situated to the eastern end of Tyalla Courts southern road verge will be undertaken.
Date of works: Tuesday 18th April 2023
Time of Works: 8:30am to 3:30pm
Reason for works: The removal of ten dead Eucalyptus trees is required to manage the likelihood of branch failure occurring over the road corridor. The trees are not suitable for retention as smaller specimens and therefore will be removed. Council engaged the services of an independent arboricultural consultant to assess the condition various trees within the road verge. The assessment findings concluded one mature Manna Gum displayed a rapid decline in health due to the presents of a wood decaying fungal pathogen. As a result, the trees ability to function has been compromised and no remedial management options are currently available. Significant structural defects were also observed within the trees primary branching structure. The tree has surpassed its useful life expectancy and is unsuitable for retention as a habitat tree in this location.
Vehicle restrictions: To enable these works to be conducted in a safe manner, the use of various machinery is required. This machinery will be positioned on the road surface requiring temporary modifications to traffic movements on Tyalla Court. Throughout the duration of the works various traffic management control will be implemented. Pedestrian access to residential properties will be maintained, however we request that residents who require to leave their properties by vehicle during this period, move their vehicles out of Tyalla Court prior to works commencing.
Timber may be left within the verge area for residents to collect once the works are completed. Please note, access to the work zone is strictly prohibited during the works. Works have been delayed as access to the site has been restricted due to adjacent residential construction works.
Works: Complete removal of one Corymbia citriodora (commonly known as Lemon-scented Gum) and pruning to reduce branch extension of one Eucalyptus camaldulensis (commonly known as River Red Gum) located on the corner of Kintyre Rd and Highland Court.
Date of works: Wednesday 9th August 2023
Time of Works: 8:00am – 2:30pm.
Reason for works: Adelaide Hills Council engaged an independent arboricultural consultant to assess the condition of the Lemon Scented Gum. The assessment findings concluded that the tree is unsustainable in its current environment and therefore will not be retained. No alternative management options (such as pruning) are available to address the issues identified. Pruning will occur to the River Red Gum tree to provide suitable clearances to the recently constructed dwelling.
Vehicle restrictions: To enable works to be conducted in a safe manner, the use of various machinery is required. This equipment will be positioned on the road surface requiring temporary modifications to traffic movements on Kintyre Road. Speed restrictions and a lane closure will be required between number 6 and number 14 Kintyre Road during the indicated time of works above.
Throughout the duration of the works a comprehensive work zone traffic management plan will be implemented. Residents in this area will still be able to access their properties by vehicle but are advised that delays may occur. Timber may be left within the verge area for residents to collect once the works are completed. Please note, access to the work zone is strictly prohibited during the works.

In response to a recent large branch failure that has occurred within a mature Liquidambar tree situated within the Council verge.
Council will be undertaking urgent tree pruning works tomorrow Wednesday 29th March directly adjacent to 51 Mount Barker Road, Stirling.
Various remedial pruning works will be undertaken to enable the tree to be retained as a smaller specimen in the short to medium term.
To enable these works to occur, various parking bays will be closed to the western side of the tree.
Council will make attempt to minimise disruption during the works.
