The upgrade is funded under the $150 million Adelaide Hills Productivity and Road Safety Package, which is jointly funded by the Australian (80%) and South Australian governments (20%) over five years.

What's happening
The Department for Infrastructure and Trasport (DIT) are constructing a roundabout at this location to improve safety.
In preparation for construction works commencing mid 2025, DIT are undertaking early works, including site investigations, surveys and services relocations at the intersection of Onkaparinga Valley Road, Junction Road and Nairne Road in Balhannah.
How this affects you
To keep everyone safe there will be speed and lane restrictions in place on and in the vicinity of the intersection while early works are underway. Please plan your trips, be cautious around workers, and observe onsite signage.
Access to businesses and surrounding properties will be maintained.
Temporary pedestrian detours may be in place during works, onsite signage will guide you to alternate routes. Minor noise disturbances can be expected while works are being undertaken, but we will minimise any disturbance to residents as much as possible.
Services relocations will include Telstra, SA Water, SA Power Networks and NBN. Service providers will contact customers directly if any service disruptions are expected.
