Council: Newman Road project, Charleston

A project updating Newman Road in Charleston is currently underway, with works expected to continue until mid-November (weather dependant).

The full range of construction includes:

• Formalised asphalt cark park adjacent to the tennis courts, playground and hall
• Bio-gardens in the car park area
• A new sealed asphalt footpath connecting the car park to the Amy Gillet Bikeway
• A new Amy Gillet Bikeway connection to join the section south of Newman Road to the section north of Newman Road
• New kerbing to assist with parking control, pedestrian separation, and stormwater management
• Upgrades to stormwater pipes and pit
• New asphalt up to the bridge before Jocelyn Avenue.
