Barbecue and Shelter - Engagement Outcomes Report
Thank you very much to everyone who participated in our engagement about the location of a barbecue and shelter at Lewis Yarluperka O’Brien Reserve during March and April 2025.
We have taken time to review all of the feedback we received during the engagement period. A total of 87 people participated in the engagement with 95.5% of participants living in Woodforde or specifically Hamilton Hill Estate.
While Option B (amphitheatre) did receive the highest number of preference selections (39% / 34 selections), the engagement results overall show that there is no clear preference from local residents as to a future location and/or retention of a barbecue at Lewis Yarluperka O’Brien Reserve. Due to the engagement results being inconclusive, the decision has been made to retain the existing barbecue in its current location and not install an additional barbecue at this time. The mixed results and written feedback provided by residents highlights to us that further discussions should be had with the local community prior to any future infrastructure proposals at this reserve.
Feedback received from residents has identified some immediate actions that can be undertaken by council staff to address simple concerns regarding reserve irrigation, outdoor fitness equipment and investigation into reserve lighting.

Thanks very much for your involvement.
