Consultation has concluded
The Department of Environment and Water (DEW) have approached Council to acquire the unmade public road adjacent to Charleston Conservation Park.
In accordance with section 10 of the Roads (Opening & Closing) Act, 1991, Adelaide Hills Council proposes to make a Road Process Order to close the the road reserve adjacent to Charleston Conservation Park.
The proposal for road closure will result as a future addition to the Charleston Conservation Park. Its addition to the park will provide it with greater protection under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972, and enable DEW to better manage it and the existing park.
The proposed addition has significant biodiversity value to the conservation park.
