Consultation has now concluded
Council is seeking to undertake a road closure process for portion of Posen Road, Birdwood (refer to document library for plans).
The adjoining land owner approached Council to purchase the unmade road reserve.
The land owners currently hold a road rent permit for the land, to allow for grazing and fire hazard reduction purposes. The land owners plan to use the land for the grazing of livestock from their adjoining land, for which the land is currently being used for.
Under the Roads (Opening and Closing) Act 1991, public consultation is a requirement of the road closure process.
Why we want to hear from you?
Community feedback is sought to determine support/objections to the proposed road closure of the portion of Posen Road, Birdwood. The feedback from the community and interested stakeholders will be included in a report taken to Council, which will enable the elected members to make an informed decision in determining if this project proceeds.

Please note any application for easement or objection must be fully supported by reasons. The application for easement or objection must be made in writing to the Council at PO Box 44, Woodside SA 5244 on or before 22 May and a copy will be forwarded to the Surveyor-General. Where a submission is made, the Council will give notification of a meeting at which the matter will be considered.
