Naming Houghton Community Land
Consultation has concluded
What's the consultation about?
The area of land bordered by Lower North East Road, Horn Street and Blackhill Road has not been officially named. Council wishes to formally name the land and is seeking the community’s feedback as to what it should be called.
We are keen to understand what the community think we should name the land, commonly known as Houghton Square / Houghton Village Green.
Council was gifted the land from the former owner. Naming the land is important to make sure the land is clearly identified in the local town, wider region, tourist information and for visitors to identify locally, interstate and from overseas.
As the land does not at present have a formal name, it is appropriate for the Houghton and wider community to have the opportunity to provide suggestions/input to Council to assist Council to determine what the appropriate name should be.
We are keen to hear your thoughts on whether the name should be:
- Houghton Square
- Houghton Village Green
- or perhaps you've got another idea?
Have your say:
You can have your say using the simple form below before Wednesday 13 November 2019.
