Consultation has concluded
Council has recently reviewed its Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP). We are seeking feedback from our community so please get involved!
We consider our Long Term Financial Plan to be a key instrument of accountability that provides projections for our planned activities over a ten year period. As such, each year prior to commencing our budget process a review of our Long Term Financial Plan is undertaken.
This review essentially sets targets for our budget to achieve, and in doing so, there is a level of certainty provided to the community that financial sustainability will be maintained.
Importantly the current LTFP demonstrates that the Council is financially sustainable over the 10 year term of the LTFP, whilst achieving the objectives outlined in the Strategic Plan. This includes:
Implementation and funding of the appropriate level of maintenance and renewal of the portfolio of infrastructure assets
Enabling the delivery of strategies identified within the Strategic Plan as well as other endorsed Functional Strategies
Meeting the ongoing expectations of service delivery to our community
Managing the impact of cost shifting from other levels of government
The appropriate use of debt as a means of funding new capital expenditure
Ensuring the financial sustainability of Council’s operations.
Hard copies of the Policy, Council report and comment form are available from Council's Customer Service Offices.
