We are seeking feedback on a proposed dry area in Lobethal township to run between 7:00pm and 7:00am every night between Friday 12 December 2025 and Thursday 1 January 2026. As this period is longer than 48 hours public consultation is required.

The declaration of this dry area is made annually, to ensure activities in Lobethal township remain 'family friendly' and to allow SA Police to proactively manage potential alcohol-related anti-social behaviour during this period. This dry area has been well received in recent years and is considered to be a successful initiative.

The Lights of Lobethal Festival will commence on Friday 12 December. The dry zone has been requested up till the 1 January 2026 to account for visitors coming to view the lights over the Christmas to New Year period after the festival has officially finished.
