Consultation has concluded

Council is committed to supporting sustainable long-term economic growth through the retention of existing businesses and the attraction of new businesses to the region. The Adelaide Hills region is a recognized lifestyle destination with a consequently higher than average number of home based businesses.

Home Based businesses made up 40% of the respondents to the Adelaide Hills 2021 Business Survey undertaken by Council.

In response to feedback received in the recent business survey, Council is holding a networking event for Home Based businesses within the region. This event will seek to:

  • Provide a means for Home based businesses to hear about business support services available in the region.
  • Support businesses to connect with others who may have similar needs, and
  • Help Council understand the needs of Home Based businesses in order to be able to better support them.

The event will include some short presentations from business support providers combined with an opportunity to then network with these business support providers as well as with other home based business owners. Business support providers presenting at the meeting include:

  • NBN Co
  • Department for Innovation and Skills - Small Business Unit
  • Regional Development Australia - Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island
  • Council will also be available to discuss the new planning system and other ways in which we can support Home Based Businesses into the future.
