Update June 2021
The Gumeracha Main Street Upgrade project will deliver a range of improvements, including underground power lines, a new stormwater system, better pedestrian connectivity and a safer streetscape environment for Gumeracha's 'Village Heart'. This community streetscape project is delivered in close partnership with SA Power Networks, the Gumeracha Main Street Group and the Gumeracha Community Association.
The first part of the project, undergrounding of power lines is being delivered by SA Power Networks.
Latest News:
All properties along Albert Street are now connected with underground power supply. SAPN have commenced taking down power lines along and it's already making a big impact along Albert Street and in Federation Park! By early to mid-July all power lines and stobie poles will be removed. The recent weather has not helped our time predictions.
The stormwwater works along Albert Street were not to clash with the removal works and will start Monday, 28 June (weather permitting). Works should be complete in 5-6 weeks.
PLOT Works are also gearing up to start on the streetscape works delivering the renewed footpath, kerb and landscaping works. It's still planned to commence August/September.
Next steps:
- Complete removal of power lines and stobie poles.
- Commence stormwater works along Albert Street.
