Update 5 February 2021
The Gumeracha Main Street Upgrade project will deliver a range of improvements, including underground power lines, a new stormwater system, better pedestrian connectivity and a safer streetscape environment for Gumeracha’s ‘Village Heart’. This community streetscape project is delivered in close partnership with SA Power Networks and the Gumeracha Main Street Group.
The first part of the project, undergrounding of power lines is being delivered by SA Power Networks.
Latest News
Trench works for the undergrounding are complete and individual property connection are well underway. SAPN will erect a couple more replacement stobie poles in the precinct which required scheduled outages in related areas.
The planned power outages related to these scheduled works will be advised as per SAPN’s standard notification period. Please note that some of the planned outages prior to Christmas were rescheduled to February.
The rescheduling has caused some delay for the overall delivery of the three project elements for this streetscape upgrade project. The stormwater installation works along Albert Street are still scheduled following the undergrounding of the power lines completion and are planned for a start in April 2021.
The streetscape upgrade tender has been called and closes early March.
Next Steps
- Continue undergrounding works for the power lines.
- Council to prepare tender documentation for construction of streetscape upgrade.
