Update 25 June - Things are really about to start!
Things are really about to start – finally! SAPN are commencing works next week, art installation to start the following week and a new footpath is getting built at the moment to better connect the Big Rocking Horse with the rest of the town.
Trench works for the undergrounding of power lines along Albert Street will naturally have an impact on residents’ and businesses’ access to their properties as well as on parking along the road. SAPN’s contractor David Schwarz will ensure that traffic and pedestrian management during construction will keep all road and footpath users safe while minimising disruptions where possible.
To achieve the best for Gumeracha, this big project will require the help and patience from the whole community.
- SA Power Network’s contractor David Schwarz will commence works on undergrounding of the power lines from Monday 29 June on.
Any affected properties and businesses will be consulted with a few days ahead of works impacting on their access. - Art installation – Artist Paul Herzich is aiming to commence the art installation of an aboriginal art piece along the entire length of the wall from Monday 6 July on. Works should be complete within approx. 5 days.
Next Steps
- Council to tender stormwater upgrade for construction.
- Council to prepare streetscape detailed design for tender for construction.
