Update 18 September 2020
The Gumeracha Main Street Upgrade project will deliver a range of improvements, including underground power lines, a new stormwater system, better pedestrian connectivity, and a safer streetscape environment for Gumeracha’s ‘Village Heart’. This community streetscape project is delivered in close partnership with SA Power Networks and the Gumeracha Main Street Group.
The first part of the project, undergrounding of power lines will be delivered by SA Power Networks and their contractor Schwarz Excavations and Civil.
Latest News
Works are progressing well for the undergrounding of the power lines and construction activities are outside the ‘heart’ of Gumeracha for now. Council has engaged Metro & Country Civil as contractor for the proposed stormwater system for Albert Street. And the art wall will be completed soon.
Trench works for the undergrounding of power lines are heading towards the flat section at Federation Park and the Torrens Valley Community Centre. A switching cubicle will get installed in the verge of Federation Park and some tree clearance has occurred in the last few days.
Adelaide Hills Council successfully ran a tender for construction services for a new stormwater system for Albert Street. Metro & Country Civil aim to commence late October and complete works before Christmas. Construction should take approx. 7-8 weeks.
Detailed design for the streetscape upgrade has been finalised and council will call tenders for construction soon.
