The Adelaide Hills is home to a variety of non-profit and community groups that provide significant value to our district and its residents. Council provides annual Grants to assist these groups in establishing and undertaking innovative projects or activities that are beneficial to the community and align with Council’s Strategic Plan.

Reviewing Our Grants Giving Policy and Grants Programs

Council is preparing to undertake a review of its Grant Giving Policy and grant programs. This review will seek to consider factors such as eligibility, accessibility, impact, funding and assessment processes, to increase the value and perception of the Policy and programs within the community and ensure alignment with Council’s Strategic Plan. Ahead of this Policy review, we seek to gather input from the community on the current grant programs available through Council.

Community groups can apply for grants to deliver local initiatives that make a positive contribution to the building of community capacity through:

  • Arts and cultural development
  • Community wellbeing
  • Lifelong learning
  • Sport, recreation and active lifestyles
  • Environment
  • Aboriginal culture and heritage
  • Diversity inclusion and accessibility

Community Grant opportunities are open for applications annually in September of each year, and Council currently offers the following:

  • Community Recreation and Facility Grants up to $40,000

  • Community Development Grants up to $2500

  • Community Owned Halls Insurance Grants

  • Minor Grants up to $300

  • Youth Incentive Grants for up to $100

Additional information on each of these grants can be found on the Community Grants page of the Adelaide Hills Council website: https://www.ahc.sa.gov.au/community/community-grants.
