The organisation that is managing the Free Camping site can keep any fees collected.
What can the camping fees be used for?
The organisation that is managing the Free Camping site can use any camping fees to contribute to the organisation's purpose.
Will Council help with managing the Free Camping site?
Council will enforce relevant camping by-laws including noise and nuisance behavior, fire safety and dog and cat issues. The day to day management and maintenance of the Free Camping site (lawn mowing, etc) will be the responsibility of the applicant organisation. Council will repair any damage to camping infrastructure (signage, RV Dump Point).
Is there a time limit on people staying at the Free Camp site?
There will be a time limit for use of the campsite. This will be identified during the planning approval process.
Will the successful applicant have to seek planning approval?
Yes, the successful applicant will need to seek planning approval to if the site is not zoned for camping.
Does the RV Dump Point need to be at the same location as the Free Camp site?
No, the RV Dump Point could be at a nearby site for example at nearby Public Toilets.
