Tree works are now complete



Background

Adelaide Hill Council in partnership with the State Government will be undertaking tree management works to vegetation impacted by the Cudlee Creek Bushfire located directly adjacent to Department of Infrastructure and Transport roadways.

The scope of works to be undertaken will included.

  • Removal of trees that hold short remaining useful life expectancies and that are not recommended for long term retention.
  • Removal of dead vegetation that is non-indigenous to area and represents limited landscape value.
  • Pruning / removal of vegetation along and over property boundaries.
  • Pruning / removal of trees that pose long term management issues over assets managed by Adelaide Hills Council, Department of Infrastructure and Transport and SA Power Networks.
  • Removal of specific fire impacted trees that are projected to experience rapid decline of timber integrity in the medium term.

Works are anticipated to occur during the Months of October, November and December 2020.

Essential access to local residents will be maintained.

Throughout the duration of these works temporary traffic detours will be implemented. These detours will be in place during the hours of Monday – Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm and are essential to ensure the safety of workers and public is maintained.

Sections of the following roadways will be impacted by tree works.

  1. Mt Torrens Road, Lobethal
  2. Woodside Road, Lobethal
  3. Cudlee Creek Road, Lobethal / Cudlee Creek
  4. Kenton Valley Road, Lobethal / Kenton Valley / Gumeracha
  5. Lobethal Road, Lobethal

How will you be notified?

If you live along one of the sections of road impacted by the tree works and road closures you will receive a written letter prior to works commencing from Council advising of the works. This will include notification of detour routes.

Electronic message boards will be installed 7 days prior to works commencing on each road where works are taking place. Boards will be altered during the works to assist with detour instructions.
