HAVE YOUR SAY

Council has developed a Draft Community Loans Policy and is seeking feedback from the community.

Adelaide Hills Council values and recognises the role of community and sporting groups within the Council area and endeavours to support them in a variety of ways.

The objective of this policy is to provide a loan funding mechanism to support projects that have community benefit.

This policy provides a framework for Council to:

  • consider requests from community groups including sporting clubs, seeking assistance by way of direct loan, and

  • ensures that medium to longer term objectives of the Long Term Financial Plan are not compromised.

Please refer to the Document Library to access the Draft Policy and other supporting material.

Hard copies of the Policy are also available at Council's Customer Service centres.

Reading the Draft Policy, under 4.2 Criteria dot points 8 and 9 seem to be duplicated at dot points 10 and 11, I would suggest these be merged. Apart from that the Policy has covered all basis to ensure Council is not to be a first option for raising money for Community Groups, rather a last resort option to complete projects. I think this is a solid Policy document.
