Consultation has concluded

Are you are wanting to supply goods or services to the Council and would like to find out more about how to do this?

If this is you we are running a workshop about our procurement processes and systems on Wednesday 19 July, 5:30pm – 7:30pm at the Council Chambers, 63 Mount Barker Road, Stirling

Why is Council running a procurement workshop?

At Council we maintain a broad range of infrastructure and assets, and provides an array of services for the community. In order to build and maintain this infrastructure and assets, and deliver meaningful and valuable services for our community, we engage numerous product, equipment and service suppliers through a rigorous procurement process.

We are running this workshop to help us work more effectively with businesses wanting to supply to good or services to us. The workshop will help you understand our procurement process and importantly how to develop compelling responses to requests for tender.

Helping you to bid for work with us is part of our committed to developing and nurturing our local economy.

What is procurement?

Procurement is the process of buying goods and services. For a council, this could be anything from office supplies, professional services and utilities to roads, footpaths and heavy vehicles — and everything in between.

When procuring goods and services, Council is guided by the following procurement principles which provide structure and transparency while aiming to deliver the best value for our community:

  • Encouragement of open and effective competition
  • Obtaining value for money
  • Probity, ethical behaviour and fair dealing
  • Accountability, transparency and reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation
  • Sustainable procurement
  • Work health and safety

This session will clearly define how Adelaide Hills Council manages its procurement process and provide an understanding of how your business can improve its chances of supplying goods or services to Council.

Some of the topics that will be covered at the information session include:
