From the 6 September – 12 November 2022 we enter the election period for Council. You can find further information here.
The lead up to, and the time during elections, is referred to as the caretaker period and triggers the adoption of our Caretaker Policy. The policy states that we cannot undertake public consultation during the election period on an issue which is contentious and any consultation which is not legislatively required under the Local Government Act. Take a closer look at the policy statement on page 16 section 12 in the Caretaker Policy.
While you may not see any formal opportunities for comment, we are still listening. We’ve set up some different engagement tools below for anyone interested in sharing ideas to help improve engagement, raising issues for consideration or providing suggestions on ways to better connect with your community.
