Consultation has concluded
Update December 2021
Thank you to those who provided feedback to this consultation. As a result of the feedback 10 out of the 11 respondents were supportive of the Lease being granted to the Kersbrook Soldiers Memorial Park Inc for:-
Term of 10 years plus a 10 year renewal option
Peppercorn rental of $ pa (plus GST ) if demanded
Adelaide Hills Council owns, operates and maintains the Kersbrook Community Waste Management System (CWMS) on Smith Road including the recycled water storage tanks and pump station at the Kersbrook Soldiers Memorial Park (KSMP). Recycled water feeds into the park’s irrigation system and an existing agreement with the KSMP allows a supply of recycled water from the CWMS on Smith Road for surface irrigation at the Kersbrook Oval and surrounds at Glover Street.
Towards the end of summer, on occasions, there is a minimal volume of recycled water available for KSMP and they wish to utilise an alternative water supply during these times. As such, KSMP approached Council and have undertaken an investigation into the feasibility of establishing a water bore at the CWMS site on Smith Road and to obtain the necessary water licence and water allocation from Department for Environment and Water.
The sinking of the bore has yielded water and the KSMP now wish to enter into a long term Lease for the bore at the Council owned CWMS site and the following terms have been discussed.
Terms;-
Peppercorn rental of $1.00 pa (plus GST) if demanded
Term of 10 years plus a 10 year renewal term.
All taxes, insurance, electricity and maintenance of the bore to be borne by the Kersbrook Soldiers Memorial Park Inc.
