Pomona Road BMX Track Trial

The initial consultation has concluded. Further consultation is scheduled for Jul/Aug 2019

In answer to community requests to increase youth recreation facilities in the district, a new BMX-style bicycle track is being trialled in Stirling over the next 12 months.

Located in the Pomona Road reserve, the track will be formed using the existing natural contours of the land and additional natural materials such as earth and fallen trees. We seek to create an engaging, interactive space that caters to various ages and skill levels. A working group has been formed from community stakeholders to guide the design and development of the space, and a professional assessment of the traffic conditions in the immediate area is being conducted.

As part of the works, refurbishment of the Service Women's War Memorial will also be undertaken. This refurbishment will acknowledge the 20th anniversary of the Memorial dedication and pay respect to the sacrifices of those before us which have enabled the youth of today to enjoy opportunities such as this.

Adelaide Hills Council is inviting feedback from the community at key points during the trial to gauge initial impressions and experiences with the project over time. We want to learn what you consider to be important for the success of this trial, and address any concerns you may have in regards to the track or potential impacts.

The first consultation is now open and will run until 5:00pm Thursday 18 October 2018.

A community information session will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday 3 0ctober 2018 in the West Wing conference room, Adelaide Hills Council, 63 Mt Barker Road, Stirling.

Have your say on the trial by completing the survey below.
