Are there any bike lockers in the Hills for bus users?

Yes there is one location at the Crafers Park and Ride, these are owned by the Department for Transport and Infrastructure.

Why do we need bike lockers ?

Like car users, bike riders who leave their bikes unattended for long periods of time tend to want secure locking facilities, bike lockers or cages can provide this level of security.

    What is Active Travel/Transport?

Active transport is the term used to describe transport that involves walking, cycling and other physical modes of travel to work, school, parks, cafes, shops, a friend's house or other destinations.

What other kinds of infrastructure is considered "bike infrastructure"?

Bike Infrastructure includes bike lanes (painted onto the ground), separated bike lanes (using the roadway but separated by physical barriers i.e. planting, kerbing, etc), bike paths (separate of the roadway but specific to bike use), shared paths (for pedestrians, cyclists and others), bike lockers, bike cages (multiple bikes in one lockable space), bike racks, on transport bike racks (on/in bus/tram/train) and any other type of non-typical infrastructure that removes barriers to a bike riders commute.

What is the cost of using a bike locker?

Adelaide Metro charges a deposit of $50 per year for hire of a bike locker. Please see Park 'n' Ride car parking - Adelaide Metro

What are you doing about better bus shelters?

In partnership with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, Council has undertaken a bus shelter upgrade project. Various priority sites have had shelters installed in the last 12 months.

Will this project help my bus come more regularly?

For timetabling and comments regarding public transport it's best to speak directly with the provider of that service. Any comments in the survey about this topic will be collaged and if appropriate forwarded to the relevant service provider.

Will this project result in more bike racks?

Depending on the community feedback and other priorities this project may result in more bike racks at priority sites.

What about road safety? I would ride if I felt safe!

We would really like to hear about your experience on Council roads, so please submit a survey and/or provide comments on the map tool.

What about bike jumps and tracks, what’s council doing in this space?

Council is currently reviewing its play space framework which identifies service levels and guidelines for all of its play spaces including bike tracks. Various management models are being investigated to improve Council’s servicing of these facilities.
