Works are complete!

Past updates

During construction time you can expect the presence of construction crew, vehicles and machinery. We will ensure temporary fencing is in place around the site and site safety protocols are followed to ensure the safety of the local community and our crew.

Thanks so much for your input in creating this wonderful playground design, we can’t wait to deliver it for you and let the kids (and adults) get on with playing!

If you have any concern or queries about the construction, please contact:

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. All comments and images have been collated into a comprehensive consultation report which you can read now.

The concept plan is now available for viewing (watch the video or download the PDF).

Notes

Final design subject to minor changes.

More information about considerations for bikes and connections with the reserve coming soon.

What's next?

Construction of the play space upgrade will commence late March/early April 2024 (the old playground will be closed).

The play space will be ready for use by 30 June 2024 (weather and materials permitting).

Background

This play space was identified for an upgrade in Council’s 2022/23 Annual Business Plan process and $215,000, (plus up to $17,000 for a picnic shelter), is allocated to build it. A portion of the budget will need to cover landscaping and site preparation and the remaining costs will be on the play space elements (such as equipment, seating, and signage).

This play space is classified as a 'local’ Play Space which in the Adelaide Hills Council is:

  • An area intended for local play, often equipment based
  • Visited by people who live nearby, sometimes by foot, for a short period of time.
  • Features: picnic area, sculptures, playground, information signage

Not included in the project is lighting, bbqs, public toilets, parking, shade sail and fencing.

Read the Play Space Fact Sheet for more details.
