Consultation has now concluded

Council received 42 responses to this consultation with the overwhelming majority not supporting the road closure.

Due to the overwhelming response from the community consultation, the applicants have decided to cease with the road closure application. They currently hold a permit for the occupation of the road, and that will remain in operation.

In accordance with section 10 of the Roads (Opening & Closing) Act, 1991, Adelaide Hills Council proposes to make a Road Process Order to close the road reserve adjacent to 178 Murdoch Hill Road, Woodside.

The adjoining landowner has approached Council to purchase the said unmade road reserve.

The land owner plans to utilise the land for grazing of livestock from their adjoining land parcels.

A right of way will remain for the purposes of emergency services access, as a thoroughfare for access to both Murdoch Hill Road and Military Road.

The Consultation Report, including a map of the site and additional information is available to view in the document library to the right of this page.

A hardcopy of the report is also available to view in Adelaide Hills Council Service Centres in Stirling, Woodside and Gumeracha during opening hours.

Any person is entitled to object to the proposed road closure via a written submission. An objection must state whether the objector wishes to make a deputation to the Council in relation to the road closure process. The Council will give notification of a meeting at which the matter will be considered so the person making the deputation or a representative may attend, if so desired.
